nd vs michigan state

Another nail biter but this one coming with a much better finish for fans of the Irish. Jimmy Claussen is playing with more confidence and with the pass protection and offensive weapons at his disposal this could be his break out year as he now finally looks comfortable in Charile Weiss's offense. Let's hope his turf toe injury does not get in the way of that.
It was ashame that Michael Floyd broke his collarbone because he was on his way to becoming one of the premeire wide receivers in college football. Duval Kumara and Rob Parris are okay but this could be the opportunity to see if the Irish have another star in the making by utilizing freshman Shaquelle Evans.
The weak spot so far looks to be the defensive line. Defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta will need to address this and find more ways to pressure the quarterback. Although safety Kyle McCarthy's interception against Michigan State to save the game brought joy and a huge sigh of relief for Irish fans, Notre Dame must be able to get pressure in the backfield because sacks and turnovers so far this year have been to few and far between.
Let's hope the momentum from Notre Dame's victory over Michigan State can be sustained for this weekend against Purdue .
